Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author as well as editors. Ryder's father was from a Jewish family Ryder believes she is Jewish. Her half-siblings are younger, Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her and her siblings in Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven. They didn't have electricity. There was no television books were the only way for Ryder to spend the time and she began to read extensively. Ryder began to take acting classes in the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983 aged 12. Lucas was let go in 1986, and Ryder who was barely 15 years old, landed a role as a leading actress. Ryder was bullied throughout high school. She hoped acting would bring about a change. But it wasn't to come to pass. She continued to pursue her dreams. Her breakthrough was in 1988 when she appeared in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder kept playing successful roles in various films. There were two Academy Awards were nominated, one of which was for The Age of Innocence (1996).
