Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer who is known for his unique blend of gospel-soul jazz R&B and R&B. From Broadway to European festival and clubs, the singer has done work across the globe. Sunshine has been born Denise White. The singer hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her professional career singing and playing piano in church. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training at the heart of Atlanta's R&B scene. She has also contributed her voice on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005, she was the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 for a position as the Choral Director for Dreamgirls which was a stage production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition through four performances a day at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was subsequently invited to sing at the Obama's inauguration 2009.
