Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is an American woman who is a businesswoman. The current president is and controlling shareholder of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. A California born Buss grew up in an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss' father was a real-estate magnate who was later a part owner of the Lakers as well as other sports companies. After her parents split up in 1972 she felt that they'd abandoned her. At the age of 19, she was employed within the family's company.
